BRITISH MUSIC mogul Jamal Edwards MBE has teased that he is considering creating an alternative TV talent show to rival Simon Cowell’s X Factor.
The 26-year-old founder of SBTV, one of the UK’s leading music platforms, told The Metro how the music boss inspired him when he was a youngster after watching his mum enter into the singing competition in 2005.
“One of my biggest inspirations growing up was Simon Cowell,” Jamal told the publication.
The media mogul, who was awarded an MBE at 24-years-old for his services to music having helped launch the career of music acts including Ed Sheeran, is currently working on branching out his 10-year-old company to include SBTV comedy, fashion, sports, business, games and gadgets, and culture.
Elaborating on his new project the entrepreneur from Luton, who was named in The Sunday Times Rich List with an estimated net worth of £6m, insists that it’s ‘not management but all about empowering artists’ and promises to reveal more in a few months.
“By the end of the year, everyone will know what’s going on. I don’t want to give too much away,” he added.
