BRITISH ACTRESS Gugu Mbatha-Raw has been awarded an MBE the Queen’s Honours List.
The 34-year-old, who has starred in Amma Asante’s Belle and recent blockbuster Beauty and the Beast, was honoured for her services to drama.
Last year, she was named one of the most influential women in Hollywood by fashion magazine Vanity Fair.
In a recent interview with Bafta, she said: “I have always loved acting and started quite young being into dance and musical theatre and drama at school.
“It’s not always easy, but I have never been bored,” she said.
The actress is currently filming a lead role in new science fiction movie, Fast Colour.
