DRAKE HAS surpassed Adele’s record at the 2017 Billboard Music Awards by picking up 13 gongs.
The Canadian rapper, who walked into yesterday’s show with 22 nominations, won top artist, top male artist and top Billboard 200 album (Views), among others.
“I got my whole family up here,” said Drake, who stood onstage with nearly two dozen people, including his father, Lil Wayne and Nicki Minaj.
After thanking his father Dennis Graham and mentor Lil Wayne, he pointed toward Nicki Minaj and said: “I got the love of my life up here too.”
Drake beat out Beyonce, Justin Bieber, Rihanna, Adele, Ariana Grande and the Weeknd for the Top Arrist prize, which was presented to him by Prince Jackson, the late Michael Jackson’s eldest son.
His trophies include some of the top awards: Top Artist, Top Male Artist, and Top 100 Artist. He now holds the record for greatest number of Billboard Music Award wins in one night.
