BRITISH ACTOR and Hood Documentary’s Kayode Ewumi will star in a new six-part spoof action-thriller series on ITV2.
Action Team is a spoof spy action-thriller series that follows the exploits of a top-secret team of special agents working for the British government and charged with saving the world.
The 23-year-old, who rose to prominence with hit YouTube series Hood Documentary, which follows a deluded, hopeless – but strangely loveable – aspiring grime MC Roll Safe as he guides the viewer through “the hood”, AKA a small area of south London, will star alongside Murder In Successville’s Tom Davis, Jim Howick (Loaded) and Laura Checkley(Detectorists).
ITV commissioner Saskia Schuster comments: “Think The Naked Gun meets The Bourne Identityin this high octane, big scale comedy featuring a dysfunctional group of spies. Fast paced, high concept and crammed with silly jokes.”
Paul Mortimer from ITV adds: “Action Team is a great new addition to ITV2’s slate of original comedy and also continues our investment in quality entertainment for younger audiences. Tom and James have a great track record in delivering hit comedy and we’re thrilled to be partnering with them on their latest series.”
Action Team will be shown on ITV2 in early 2018.
