THE CHICAGO Bulls have matched Chance The Rapper’s $1 million donation to Chicago’s Public Schools, the Grammy Award-winning rapper announced.
The Bulls’ Michael Reinsdorf presented him with the cheque at Robeson High School in Chicago’s Englewood neighbourhood, advancing a highly publicised fundraising effort launched by the musician in early March.
The money will go toward arts and enrichment programs and school supplies, starting first with the schools in greatest need.
“As a parent and proud CPS graduate I’m committed to helping Chicago’s children have quality learning experiences and a quality learning space. Youth education is key focus area for the Chicago Bulls and the team’s longstanding relationship with CPS,” Chance said.
“It is my jobs as, just who I am, to bring light and attention to public school funding and how it affects my hometown. We all individually play roles in the betterment of the kids of Chicago,” he said.
Earlier this month chance donated his own million dollars to support schools.
