MERCURY PRIZE-winning MC Skepta has announced a surprise London show with proceeds going to Shelter, a housing and homelessness charity.
The Tottenham-born star, who describes himself as a ‘man of the people’, will play at the Islington Assembly Hall next Tuesday (April 4) and will feature a number of “surprise special guests”.
Skepta said: “I’m happy to hear the people at Shelter want me to play a show there… I can’t wait to touch down.”
Tickets are limited to 750 and will cost £40 each, with all proceeds going to Shelter. They will be allocated via ballot, which will be open for just 48 hours, from 10am today (March 28) until 10am on Thursday March 30.
“Every penny raised from this very special gig will help Shelter to be there for more people and to ensure that no-one has to fight bad housing or homelessness on their own,” says Shelter’s Graeme Brown.
