Luke James will take on the role of Sean “Puffy” Combs in TV series about the murders of Biggie and Tupac

SINGER AND actor Luke James will take on the role of music mogul and founder of Bad Boy Records P Diddy in the USA’s anthology series, Unsolved: The Murders of Biggie and Tupac.

In true crime style, the series will chronicle the major police investigations into the murders of the rap stars.

Penned by Suits scribe Kyle Long, the script will draw inspiration from Murder Rap: The Untold Story of Biggie Smalls & Tupac Shakur Murder Investigations, the true-life biopic written by former LAPD Detective Greg Kading.

Announcing the news on Instagram, Luke, who received critical acclaim for his recent performance in BET’s New Edition biopic where he played singer Johnny Gill, said: “#unsolved #blackgirlmagic #blackboyjoy”

He will star alongside Marcc Rose (Tupac) and Wavvy Jonez (Biggie) Aisha Hinds and former Destiny’s Child star LeToya Luckett.

The series premiere date has not been released yet.
