NICKI MINAJ has broken Aretha Franklin’s 40-year record for the most Hot 100 hits by a female artist with 76 singles making it on the coveted rundown.
The 34-year-old rapper debuted three songs on the Hot 100 last week – No Frauds with Drake and Lil Wayne, Regret In Your Tears, and Charged It with Lil Wayne. The songs charted at No 14, No. 61, and No. 71, respectively.
Nicki tied Aretha’s 73 Hot 100 singles on March 18 with her appearance on Gucci Mane’s Make Love, but her triple release saw her surpass the ‘Queen of Soul’.
After hearing of her impressive feat, Nicki, who was on stage supporting rapper Drake in London’s O2, took to Instagram to celebrate her milestone and to thank her loyal ‘Barbz’.
“Man, I tell ya… God said he ain’t done showing off yet. Lol. Walked off stage to find out history was made yet again today,” she wrote. “To my fans: I fkn love u guys more than I’ll ever be able to put in words. Thank u so much for your unwavering love & support.”
Her first hit the Hot 100 in 2010 as a feature on Lil Wayne’s No. 44-peaking Knockout.
She first charted as a lead with Your Love, which reached No. 14 in August 2010.
The Queen’s rapper has achieved 13 top 10s, with 2014’s No. 2 hit Anaconda, her highest-charting.
