JORDAN PEELE’S socially-conscious horror film, Get Out, starring British actor Daniel Kaluuya, is has crossed the coveted $100 million mark at the box office.
The film is the fastest to reach the mark for production company Blumhouse, which was also behind Split, as well as the Paranormal Activity and the Insidious franchises.
It is only the second non-franchise film this year to achieve this feat.
Get Out, which cost only an estimated $4.5m to make, could end up reaching a $140 million or higher total before its through.
The film tells the story of Chris Washington (Daniel Kaluuya) an African American young man who goes to meet his white girlfriend’s (Allison Williams) family (Bradley Whitford, Catherine Keener) for the first time. But they’re not normal people, and Chris needs to Get Out of their house.
