BRITISH SUPERMODEL Jourdan Dunn launched her LONDUNN + MISSGUIDED collection at the fashion brand’s store in London yesterday (March 11).
The 26-year-old said the inspiration behind her debut collection with the popular fashion house was the perfect blend of casual and glamour.
She told MailOnline: “We had the idea of the womenswear collection which is like my style which is street chic and I wanted statement daytime wear that can go into the night.
“Really cool practical pieces that you can wear to pick up the kids from school.”
The mother-of-one added: “I’m not one of those mums who arrives in heels, I want something quick and comfortable so if I wanna go to a meeting or the gym, I can put on trainers or heels and still feel good about myself.”
However, Jourdan is no stranger to designing.
The entrepreneur has previously launched a childrenswear range with Marks and Spencer Lil LonDunn by Jourdan Dunn last year.
At the tender age of 15, Jourdan was famously scouted in the Hammersmith branch of Primark and since then she has become one of the world’s most acclaimed supermodels.
She has previously said she is desperate to see more “girls of colour” in the fashion industry.
“There are definitely a lot more girls of colour being represented. But I also feel like we’re 100 per cent still not there. I want to see us get to a place where seeing a black girl, anywhere, is not such a big deal. Why can’t it just be the norm to see black models in campaigns and on covers and runways? It’s still too much of a big thing when this happens.”
