SHE MADE history in 2015 when she became the first model to walk the Victoria’s Secret runway with an Afro and now has ticked another accomplishment off her list after she was announced as the new face of L’Oréal Paris.
The 24-year-old has been modeling since 2010, when she won the Elite Model Angola search and has modelled for Chanel, Balmain, and Givenchy since.
“I believe in the beauty of diversity and the empowering message that a girl who started from the bottom can be an international beauty symbol and be living proof that our dreams are valid, and the future ahead of us is bright,” she said in a statement.
This is another push for inclusivity from L’Oréal Paris–its UK branch just launched a buzzy campaign that showcased influencers not only of all races, but all body types, genders, and abilities.
Maria joins other L’Oréal faces Eva Longoria, Blake Lively, Jennifer Lopez, Doutzen Kroes, and Liya Kebede.
