Olympic gymnastics champion Gabby Douglas to launch vegan lipstick line



US OLYMPIC gymnastics champion Gabby Douglas has launched her own lipstick line.

The first black woman to win the All Around gold medal in gymnastics, has teamed up with cosmetics brand Beauty Bakerie, the leading leading cruelty free cosmetic brand, for a a selection of shades.

“Gabby is a strong woman whose values, dedication, and poise has inspired so many of us to be and give the best version of ourselves in every situation,” Beauty Bakerie said. “Her story epitomises our better, not bitter, motto as difficulty and hardship has only made Gabby stronger while staying true to her sweet and lovable personality.”

Gabby added: “I am so excited about this partnership with Beauty Bakerie! I have always wanted to have a lipstick line, and I’m honored to be able to partner with a brand that has an amazing product.”

Asked how Beauty Bakerie’s motto ‘better, not bitter’ resonates with her life and experiences, the 19-year-old said: “Being Better not Bitter is very similar to my personal motto, Hard days are the best because that’s when champions are made. It’s easy to allow negativity or hard circumstances keep you from chasing your dreams.

“It is very important that you maintain a positive outlook and surround yourself with others who share the same mindset. I have definitely had to endure situations that could have made me bitter. But, I decided to focus on being better instead!”

The Gabby Douglas x Beauty Bakerie collab will include a specially curated collection and a set of five Lip Whipsdesigned by Gabby herself.

As with all items by Beauty Bakerie, the collection will be vegan, cruelty-free, and gluten-free.
