British supermodel Jourdan Dunn covers Glamour: ‘My work is a representation of me’

BRITISH SUPERMODEL Jourdan Dunn covers this month’s Glamour magazine where she talks about how important it is for her to have the final say on her new clothing collaborations because “it’s a representation of me”.

The 26-year-old, whose move into clothing designing includes two collaborations with online retailer Missguided – LonDunn + Missguided by Jourdan Dunn, said: “I don’t want to have my name on it if other people have done all the work.”

Her two latest collaborations follow last year’s launch of Lil LonDunn, a children’s wear line with iconic British high street chain, Marks & Spencer.

However, on designing a collection for ‘real women’ vs models in her latest role, Jourdan said: “I don’t really like the term ‘real women’. When you compare ‘real women’ to models, it’s like they are not real, and it’s like, what do you mean? I live on earth. I have breasts, I have a vagina, I am very much real.”

She also recognises that to people looking in, her life seems perfect, but it’s not always the case. But she also has a good attitude to life, telling us: “I have down moments, but I just let them be moments and not drag on. I’m like ‘Be a big girl, get on with it, you’ve got shit to do’.”

Jourdan soared to fame at the tender age of 15, when she was scouted while shopping in her local branch of Primark, shortly before making her runway debut at NYFW while walking for Marc Jacobs and Ralph Lauren.
