EMPIRE STAR Gabourey Sidibe brought some colour and culture to the red carpet at the annual NAACP Image Awards in a beautiful Ankara dress.

The actress, whose father is from Senegal, looked stunning in the blue and yellow printed gown.

“I love African Print as if it were a part of my family and really…it kind of is,” she captioned the image of her red carpet entrance on Instagram. “Thank you to @themarcyminute for finding me the dress of my dreams !!! Thank you @ofuure for rushing this beautiful outfit to us!”

In another image of her outfit, she wrote: “Happy Black History Month”
