TWENTY-YEAR-OLD model Ana Flavia made history last month, after becoming the first black model in 34 years to win Brazil’s Super Model of The World competition, an annual event held by Ford Models.
The well-known international competition was first created in 1980 by Ford Models co-founder Eileen Ford.
Notable participants include Chanel Iman, Adriana Lima, and Nicole Trunfio.
Ana, hails from Mussurunga, a neighborhood on the outskirts of Salvador, earned her win during the Brazilian contest’s 34th year.
She decided to enter the Ford Models competition while working as a sales assistant at a local mall.
Ana will sign a four-year contract with the respected agency, worth $150,000.
