WHEN UNIVERSITY of Houston business student Edose “Ose” Ohen decided he wanted to open a doughnut shop two years ago, he was already well-versed on the stiff competition he’d find in the local food scene.
So he set out to differentiate himself from other popular doughnut shops by seeking out what wasn’t available in Houston.
“I literally travelled the world trying to get the best recipes and best ingredients,” Ose told Eater. “I decided that we are going to make all of our doughnuts [from] scratch, in-house, 24 hours a day.”
After gathering a group of friends and family to invest in his venture, he found a space and went to work incorporating the influences he’d gathered from his travels abroad.
The result? Glazed the doughnut cafe, a combination of classic as well as innovative flavor combinations in a variety of textures.
Today, Glazed is Houston’s premier specialty doughnut shop, with two wildly popular locations with a focus on specialty doughnuts.
“We are committed to providing you with the freshest, sweetest and most amazing doughnuts in the city of Houston,” the company’s website promises.
Flavours include, white chocolate macadamia, strawberry cheesecake, toffee and cinnamon sugar.
