IN SEPTEMBER, UK rapper Skepta won the coveted Mercury Prize for fourth album, Konnichiwa.

He beat off competition from the likes of David Bowie, Radiohead and Savages.

Two months later, his independently-released body of was certified gold in the UK.

The 34-year-old, real name Junior Adenuga, took to Instagram yesterday (Nov 27) to, once again, thank fans for their support and inspire them, just like he did, to follow their dreams.

He wrote: “I remember wanting to be at the top of “the World” I became obsessed with competition and it killed me. One day I realised each person has their own world they need to top, ironically this self value allowed me to look at my world from a non competitive eye and showed me to help others realise what I did, instead of hiding the knowledge.
