MEET SIMON-Peter Frimpong, a 13-year old Ghanaian American from Aurora, Colorado.
The 8th-grader is one of about 100 top science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) students from across the USA.
Earlier this year, he was invited to the 2016 White House Science Fair.
He presented President Obama with a functional artificial leg that he designed and built with his classmates using 3D prototypes.
Inspired by an army veteran who needed a more comfortable and functional prosthetic limb, the young scientists also interviewed him before designed to gather feedback.
The project was so innovative that it was selected as a finalist in the Samsung Solve for Tomorrow national competition.
