WHEN LONDON-based violinist Daj Jordan uploaded a short cover of Rae Sremmurd’s Black Beatles, also known as the soundtrack to the popular #MannequinChallenge, little did he know how big the reaction would be.
The original video received 22,000 retweets within the first day and Noisey dubbed the 28-year-old’s cover the ‘most important music since Mozart’.
Daj Jordan, who has made a bit of a name for himself online covering rap songs, has been playing violin since age 7, and he regularly posts violin covers to his social media for fun.
“Im surprised by the reaction I get, it’s really positive,” he told BuzzFeed. “It’s nice when people say they want their kids to play the violin to the genres of music I do.”
