BRITISH FOOTBALL club Tottenham Hotspur posted a throwback picture on their official Twitter account that managed to pay homage to both a former player and a current first team star.
The club’s social media account uploaded a picture from 2007 of then main man Dimitar Berbatov and Josh Onomah, who would have been nine or ten-years-old.
It caused the 19-year-old, tipped for big things as a member of Mauricio Pochettino’s exciting young team, to tweet an embarrassed reply.
Josh, born in London, is one of a number of graduates to come through the Tottenham academy, and evidently he has had a close association with the Lilywhites for many years.
He signed a four-year deal with the north London club in February and said playing for Tottenham Hotspur was a “dream come true”.
“Since I was young my dream was to play for Tottenham and now that I’m doing it, it just seems surreal really so I’ve just got to keep my head down and carry on working,” he said.
Dimitar was an outstanding player for Spurs in a three year spell following his move from Bayer Leverkusen.
The classy striker linked up superbly with Robbie Keane, with both players featuring in the club’s League Cup win 2008.
