BRITISH ACTRESS Cynthia Erivo had an evening dreams are made of after picking up a Tony Award for Lead Actress in a Musical for her portrayal of Cecile in Broadway’s The Color Purple last night (June 12).
And the following day continued in the same vein when she joined media mogul Oprah Winfrey for lunch.
The pair met at New York’s Rockefeller Center to celebrate Cythia’s win and no doubt discuss the 29-year-old’s bright future.
Oprah, who starred in the original film, is one of the producers of The Color Purple.
The award-winning production is also Cynthia’s debut Broadway role.
