MEET CHAZ Hammonds, a graduate of Texas A&M University and founder of SoulFit Seasoning, an organic seasoning “with a southern twist”.
The product, which is Non GMO, Non Preservative, Vegan/Paleo Friendly, and Low Sodium, which allows consumers to “stay healthy, live longer, get fit, and a still have some SOUL” in their food.
“I always admired my grandmother’s soul food growing up. I wanted to make the food that she was infamous for, but with a little twist,” Chaz, who is also studying for a degree in Environmental Law, says.
In a quest to lead a healthier lifestyle, but still pay tribute to his grandmother’s winning recipes, Chaz began making changes to how he prepared his food.
“I began grilling and baking instead frying my food,” he explains. “Months went by and people started to notice how the changes in my diet had affected by appearance. That is when I started adding recipes to my photos.”
This is where his idea for both SoulFit Seasoning and SoulFitGrill was born, where Chaz shares daily meal preparations with his 24,000 followers on Instagram.
“During the spring of 2014, I built my own backyard-garden where I grew multiple vegetables such as: tomatoes, zucchini, squash, bell peppers, banana peppers, anaheim peppers, jalapenos, cilantro and collard greens. Growing my own vegetables, allowed me to cultivate exactly what I consumed,” he added.
