RIHANNA HAS has launched a new international and US college scholarship program to help students embarking on the journey of higher education.
The Clara Lionel Global Scholarship Program, in conjunction with the singer’s charity named after her grandparents, is available to students who are enrolled in a four-year college during the 2016 – 2017 school year and will range from $5,000 – $50,000.
“To be able to give the gift of an education is actually an honour,” the 28-year-old said. “Higher education will help provide perspective, opportunities and learning to a group of kids who really deserve it. I am thrilled to be able to do this.”
Launched in 2012 in honour of her grandparents, Clara and Lionel Braithwaite, the Clara Lionel Foundation works to improve the quality of life for communities globally in the areas of health, education, arts, and culture.
