BRITISH COMEDIAN Kojo has announced he will take to the stage for his one-man show, I Got Problems, at London’s IndigO2 on November 6.
The Hackney-born funnyman, who has toured with Kevin Hart and Dave Chappelle throughout his illustrious career, will open up about what he’s had to overcome to get to this point in his career, including the incarceration of his parents and subsequent time spent in foster care.
“Kojo is about to talk about his childhood, first kiss, going to school in Ghana and his parents getting arrested when he was five and having been put into the foster care system,” a statement read. “He’s also about to reveal the worst person he’s worked with in the industry. If you thought you had problems, you better think again.”
Kojo, dubbed ‘The Fresh Prince of Hackney’, founded Kojo’s Comedy Fun House, which gave a platform to both aspiring an established acts.
He has fast become one of the biggest talents to come out of the black comedy circuit and has been named ‘Best Male Comedian’ at the Black Entertainment Comedy Awards a hat trick of times.
Kojo was also asked to host the first ever Def Comedy Jam Tour with Music Mogul Russell Simmons and spent a year living in New York working with comedians and Russell Simmons.
The east London-born star has sold out the Hackney Empire twice with solo shows and will release his debut film, The Weekend, later this year.
