THE STAR of the hit NWA biopic Straight Outta Compton has landed a role in film about President Obama’s early years.
Jason Mitchell, 29, who played rapper Eazy-E in the Oscar-nominated music biopic, will begin shooting Barry later this month, according to Variety.
Barry covers Obama’s college days at Columbia University in New York City.
Barry is moving into production a few months after another Obama movie, Southside With You, which re-creates Michelle and Barack Obama’s first date in 1989, premiered at the Sundance Film Festival.
Obama graduated from Columbia University in 1983 with a BA degree in political science with a specialty in international relations.
The Chicago-based community organiser later graduated from Harvard Law School and then embarked on a legal and political career that lead to the White House.
