HOT ON the heels of his new trainer collaboration with Nike, Skepta has now been named as an ambassador for Japanese clothing brand Uniqlo.
The Boy Better Know (BBK) rapper announced the good news on Instagram, confirming his attendance at the re-launch of the Uniqlo’s global flagship store on London’s Oxford Street.
“Skepta for #UNIQLO2016,” he wrote.
And it looks like the collaboration couldn’t be a better fit, as Skepta, known for wearing low-key track suits (even when attending red carpet events), sported a classic Uniqlo tracksuit for his promotional picture.
To signify the re-opening of the new-look shop on March 18, Uniqlo has enlisted a total of six ambassadors, including BBC DJ Benji B, filmmaker Sean Frank, designer Hana Tajima, transgender model and DJ Munroe Bergdorf.
Although only three months into the year, it has been a very good 2016 for the Shutdown hitmaker.
Last month, he signed award-winning Canadian rapper Drake to his BBK record label and previewed his brand new trainers in collaboration with sports giant Nike.
There isn’t a release date for the ‘Blacklisted Air Max BW’ yet, but it has been rumoured they’ll be coming to a shop near you in the next few months.
