Chelsea U21 star donates his football boots to Nigeria ‘motherland’

A 19-YEAR-OLD footballer on Chelsea’s U21 team has donated hundreds of his boots to Nigeria’s “less fortunate”.

Ola Aina, who is hotly tipped to follow Ruben Loftus-Cheek into the first-team set up after winning the U21 Premier League, FA Youth Cup and UEFA Youth League with the Blues, has a sponsorship deal with Adidas and wanted to give something back to “the motherland”.

He wrote on Instagram: “All my old boots, balls and kits being shipped off to the motherland (Lagos Nigeria) this morning to the less fortunate #giveback #2nddrop #nigeria”

The youngster came to the attention of football fans less than a month ago when he rifled in a stunning strike from his own half in an U21 game against Spurs.

With an eye for goal and random acts of kindness, he must have been learning from Didier Drogba in his last stint at Chelsea.
