STAR WARS actor John Boyega has become the first patron of London’s Identity School of Acting.
The BAFTA Award-winning star trained for three years at the school, which focuses on nurturing diverse talent for roles in theatre, television and film.
The 23-year-old said he was “proud and honoured” to represent the school, claiming it helped him “to establish myself as an actor and also as an artist”.
He told The Stage: “From complicated text to movement, each class is aimed at pushing you to your full potential whilst also teaching you new skills that would be useful in a professional setting.”
Founded by Femi Oguns in 2003, the school aims to reflect a multi-cultural society through the students it enrols.
John added: “I’m so grateful for the opportunities that have been presented to me through this amazing school, and I’m grateful to Femi Oguns for believing in my vision and running with it.”
