UK PRODUCER and singer Labrinth attended his first Grammy Awards last night (Feb 15) and said he looked forward to attending “many more”.
The 27-year-old, real name Timothy McKenzie, features and has a production credit on US singer The Weeknd’s album Beauty Behind The Madness, which went on to win a Grammy for Best Urban Contemporary Album at yesterday’s ceremony.
Though he had to be “convinced” to attend by a friend, Tim Blacksmith, the east Londoner, who achieved his first UK No.1 in 2012 with single Beneath Your Beautiful and produced Tinie Tempah’s first No.1 single Pass Out, later wrote on Instagram: “1st Grammys ever and hopefully many more.”
He also thanked Tim “for convincing me to go”.
In a separate post, where he is pictured with US singing sensation Leon Bridges, Labrinth hints at a future collaboration.
“My boy @leonbrudgesofficiak #Grammys2016SonyAfterParty we’re gonna make some great music…,” he wrote.
