US RAPPER and actor Bow Wow, real name Shad Moss, will host the first-ever Grammys pre-award show on Monday (Feb 15).
The CSI: Cyber star will cover all of the red carpet and behind-the-scenes action ahead of the annual event, which is now in its 58th year.
The ceremony, which sees rapper Kendrick Lamar leading the pack with 11 nominations including the night’s top honor, Album of the Year, for his sophomore LP, To Pimp a Butterfly, will be hosted by hip-hop veteran LL Cool J.
“What a win for hip hop,” Shad wrote on Instagram. “The GOAT hosting the Grammys and I’m holding down the first-ever red carpet pre-award show. The only two rappers on CBS. Dreams do come true.”
R&B star Keyshia Cole was one of the first to show her support on social media.
She wrote: “congrats to @shadmoss for hosting the first EVER pre-show from all over the staples center. No following the rules, creating your own lane!!”
Earlier this month, the 28-year-old announced he would front a late night talk show giving a platform to hip-hop stars.
He said: “Remember, I never wanted to be the best rapper, but the greatest multi-entertainer of all time for my era.”
