US ACTOR Cory Hardrict will play the infamous Hatian Jack in the Tupac Shakur biopic All Eyez on Me.
Cory, who starred in 2011’s Battle: Los Angeles and more recently, American Sniper alongside Bradley Cooper, will join Danai Gurira, Kat Graham, Jamie Hector and Demetrius Shipp Jr. in the film about the late rapper.
“Come on now, it’s Pac,” the 36-year-old actor wrote in a post on Instagram, which was accompanied by a picture of a Variety article breaking the news.
Haitian Jack was known for his extortion tactics in the hip-hop community and was considered one of the most feared men on the streets.
Tupac accused Jack of orchestrating the 1994 shooting that left the rapper shot, robbed and near death at New York’s Quad Recording Studios in his song, Against All Odds.
All Eyez on Me chronicles the life and legacy of Tupac Shakur, including his rise to superstardom as a hip-hop artist and actor, his imprisonment and his time at Death Row Records.
Following his breakout role in American Sniper, Cory, who is married to Sister Sister star Tia Mowry, is also set to star in supernatural action fI’ll, Spectral, and the Chloe Moretz drama, November Criminals.
All Eyez on Me is directed by Benny Boom. The film’s title is taken from Shakur’s fourth studio album, which was released in early 1996.
