RAP PIONEERS N.W.A. will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
The hip-hop crew – aka N****z Wit Attitude – will join the 31st class of the Rock Hall on April 8 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, DJ Yella, Eazy-E and MC Ren round out the 2016 inductees, along with Cheap Trick, Chicago, Deep Purple and Steve Miller.
In August, their biopic, Straight Outta Compton, hit cinemas to rapturous reviews, earning over $200 million and lots of Oscar buzz. It reminded the world just how impactful N.W.A was during their brief time together, and probably helped them finally get into the Hall of Fame
This means that the group’s mark is solidified,” NWA’s Ice Cube told Rolling Stone of the news.
“We got some of the most creative, talented people in NWA that’s ever been compiled in one group. It’s just exciting that the group as a whole gets recognized by the whole industry as Hall of Fame-worthy.”
